Plus, we sometimes get burned out on the amount of show requests so we forget to check the email for a while. Just to be honest.

SO YOU WANNA BOOK BCHQ 'EH? Well, it's pretty durn easy these days, thanks for asking. BCHQ is finally at the point where we're trying to blow the doors open and really make it a community-run space for the community. The community encompassing anyone who wants to get involved in a manner concerning the arts (music, visual, performance, etc.) or information (infoshops, classes, etc.). Durham for Durham's sake? Anyone? The Bike Co-op is still up and running, so if you're interested in that aspect at all, swing on by any Sunday from 1pm-6pm and chat 'em up. I believe they're also about to start Saturday hours. To book a show, we ask that you please approach us at an event and chat about it with us. Again, we're terrible at email, so you might run the risk of an unanswered email. It's not personal, we swear. We're just better in person. Some FAQ on booking: - In order to run the space for a show one night, you need to shadow an exisiting member a couple times to learn the ropes during a show. - We ask for a 20 or 30 dollar donation from the organizer. This helps us cover rent and electricity. - You can make that back from the door donations for the bands' gas money though if you really want. Or not. - We try not to book on Sundays-Wednesdays. Out of respect to our neighbors and we use those nights for band practice. - We are an alcohol-free, all ages, pass-the-hat community space. Period. No 'if's, 'and's or 'but's. - We ask that you please promote your own shows. We'll put it up on the website. - Depending on our situation that week, we might ask ya to provide your own mic cables. - We can't keep up with myspace requests. - We are these things because it ensures the longevity of the space.
